Hey everyone!

Few questions for you guys:

1. I recently bought a house in Lynchburg that's got an unfinished basement. It's a huge space that basically just needs flooring and drywall. The insulation's already in there. When's the best time of year to get this done?

2. Anyone who's used a local contractor to do this sort of thing, please shoot your recommendations my way!

3. I am considering turning this basement into a cozy studio or maybe 1 bedroom apartment. Where I am from in NY it's common for people to rent basement apartments. Is that sort of thing common in Lynchburg or is thought just a waste of time?

Thanks!

I can only answer your first question;

Even though we have mold winters here the best time to have your basement work done would be during the winter months. More contractors would be available then due to both the weather and the current new home construction that’s going on.

Not sure if you going to obtain a building permit but if so, the local inspectors know almost all of the good and not so good local builders. Hope this helps.
