Hoping to be in Lynchburg by april. Will be looking for a job. Right now I have 2 tone hair color. I'm thinking Lynchburg is a conservative town and as an outsider I should tone it down. But I was thinking blonde, but that's pretty attention getting and I want to blend, so I was thinking some sort of darker color.
Am I overthinking this?
I am 39, so it's not like I'm a kid.
I guess I could tone it down and then get there and fix it accordingly.

I think you may be overthinking it a little bit. But when looking for a job anywhere you want to look professional. I dont think it would be a bad idea to tone it down but blonde seems fine to me. I am not familar with Lynchburg I am a Roanoke guy but I truely feel its more of a professional looking thing moreso than being in a conservative town thing. Employers look at things like that.. I dont think Lynchburgers would frown on you but employers may. Good Luck!!

I say tone it down! Doesn't matter on the city you are interviewing in. You have one chance to make a first impression and polished and professional is it. Also, age-appropriate.

I believe I lost out on a really good job recently in part because of my hair - I've grown it long and am wearing it down and curly most of the time. I think I was perceived as too young and inexperienced for the position (which I'm not!)

Lynchburg is conservative. You might want to go near natural with light highlights. you don't say what field you're looking to enter into in the Lynchburg area. You could go with whatever in the hair styling business. if you're looking in an office environment, you probably want to tone it down, especially given your age.

Thanks for the feedback. Yup. Mine is long too. Blonde is expensive to maintain in this economy. Plus is doesn't match my eyebrows.

My husband is from Lburg and I worked there - very conservative!!! Yep - I'd tone it down and go with something easy to maintain - best of luck!!!
