The labor statistics are telling. There was a solid 3 year upwards trend in jobs between 2004 and 2006 before the current recession started to take its toll. This suggests that Rochester is over its past troubles which caused its economy to take a uniquely severe dive and is now starting to sync with the rest of the country. It will be interesting to see what happens when the economy starts to kick in again.
