What is the historical reason that last call is 2 AM in Rochester whereas in the rest of NYS it's 4 AM? Gotta say, 2 AM is way too early. Has there been any movement to change this law?

Most of NY is 2 am. Most of the country is. Only places like Albany, NYC and Buffalo are 4 am.
Bar workers would hate the change I can tell you that much.

LOL, I remember the days of 2AM being too early (luckily I was in Buffalo at the time). Nowadays, I am wiped out at midnight if I am out at that time.

I heard Gitsis was forced to close at night now...ala Nick Tahoes. Not certain if that is true though. I do remember there being a number of shootings there at night.

I was at Gitsis last week at 3 am. I know they were threatened with the early close.

They have been threatening that since I was going there 10 years ago... Now I am just too old to make it out that late LOL.... but I don't think they will do it... look how long it took to shut down Nicks late night service... Gitsis has had some trouble in the past but it was a random thing I think... and wasn't it a long while back? I remember it being more like when I was getting married- 7 years years ago.... maybe I am wrong....

It was about 7 years ago when I lived around there. I thought I heard that they were closed at nights, so I looked on RocWiki and found the following.... "In September 2008, due to various incidents, Gitsis is no longer open 24/7 on Thurs-Sat nights." [http://rocwiki.org/Gitsis_Texas_Hots], though Garmin says he was there, so either is wasn't Thurs-Sat, or the wiki is wrong.

They may have changed the hours. I only really go out late from Thur - Sat. I think the night I was there was a Thrusday.
