Hi I wanted to ask you Rochesterians (is that how you say it lol) I recently moved to a loft in downtown i have tons of walls and no art yet, I'm 25 so I kinda like street art contemporary stuff, or even cool pics like beatles stuff and rock n roll like, is there any cool place you guys can recommend?? the lower the budget the better please thank you!!!
There is an art store right around the Park Ave area, the name escapes me right now. The wife and I went there when we moved in to our first apt to try and find stuff. Nothing we were really in to, but I think you'd be able to walk around in there for hours based on what you said you're trying to find.
If you want cheap art, look into the festivals. The Cornhill arts festival is coming up, you should be able to find plenty there, and have a good time.
Also, NAZARETH COLLEGE OF ROCHESTER has a great ART Program with very talented students. They have Student/Professor Art Shows in their Gallery.... Once a School Year they have a Show of the best Student work..... You can always look into their fresh talent- I am sure you could find something quite amaing and unique. RIT is another place you might be able to find fresh new student work......
Craft Co. #6 has some unusal items.... not all crafts... not all art either.... but then again it is in the eye of the beholder....
these are all great ideas i will def. look into it thanks!!!
