Sure, lot's of good places to raise kids around here.

Off the top of my head, you can look in Fair Oaks, Roseville, Rocklin and Folsom for starters.

Are schools the main reason you want to leave Las Vegas?

Stay away from Meadowview/Florin area, Oak Park, Del Paso Heights, South Natomas, for starters.

As a former teacher, I'd recommend staying away from Sacramento City School District, period. There is a thread or two on this Sacramento forum that talks about schools. If you work in Folsom, you could also move up the hill to the Cameron Park area and the Buckeye school district, which is excellent, and has excellent high schools. Folsom and Roseville also have great schools!

Oh - and yes - a great place to raise children, in the right areas! Lots of opportunities for outdoors experiences
