This is my first Summer in SAC, I feel like I'm in AZ. Is this normal and will it be like this the entire season?

What are the other seasons like?

It isn't unusual, but doesn't occur every year. This is the hottest it has been in 6 years.

Although it gets hot here it usually doesn't last more than 4-6 days, and the nights are usually cool. We've had low temperatures running from 59 to 64. Compare that to Fresno where the lows have been in the mid and upper 70's. It was 60 in Sacramento this morning. The low in Fresno was 79.

It hasn't been this hot for quite a long time. Last 4-5 summers have been much cooler.

Indeed--who knew that Sacramento has the sunniest summers of any city on Earth? Great if you're trying to avoid vampires!

What's cool about it is that, although we are clearly in the sun belt, we ACTUALLY HAVE WATER, TOO! I love the southwest, but it is extra nice to be around here with all the green trees, rivers and lakes too. Enjoy the delta breeze tonight. Mark Finan says bring a sweater if you'll be out til 10 or 11

Yes Sacramento is normally hot, sunny, and dry in the summer (not Phoenix or Palm Springs hot though). 90's during the day is typical with low 100's not uncommon. As others have said the past few summers have been a bit below normal for daytime temps and so far this summer has been the hottest in a few years , but nothing out of the ordinary. A 'typical' Sacramento summer day is clear, low humidity, and temps in the low to mid 90's cooling down to the upper 50's to low 60's at night. We even have occasional daytime highs in the low to mid 80's if we get a breeze from the right direction. So, our summer temps can vary which is nice. The generally cooler nights here are one of the best features about Sacramento summers. We get what's called a 'delta breeze' which is basically cool ocean air blowing into the valley from the San Francisco Bay. In fact my 2 favorite words during summer are delta and breeze! The winter here is our 'rainy season' and is typically cool and damp with a mixture of sunny and rainy days. Daytime temps average in the 50's to low 60's and nights in the 30's to low 40's with on and off frosts. Fog (called Tule Fog) is our main winter feature. Accumulating snow here in the valley is rare, but as you head up in elevation towards the Sierra the snow increases. Fall and Spring are very nice seasons here with temps in the 70's and 80's and generally sunny dry days.

The outlying towns around Sacramento (Folsom, EDH, Roseville, Lincoln, etc) are hotter. This week the temperature has been running 105-110 in Folsom/EDH.

I was out walking at 930 pm on Wednesday night and it was still 90 degrees. I did hit a few spots of cool air, but nothing like the delta breeze that is evident further down the hill in Sacramento. It's actually nice right now - I've got the windows open & fans on. It's only 70. Yay!
