I made this same post on Reddit:

I lived in Davis mostly year-round from 1996 to 2006 (from age 18 to 28), and made one brief trip back in 2007, but haven't been there since. I thought I might rent a motel room (I don't know anyone who lives there anymore), and spend a few days wandering around. It's apparently gotten a lot more corporate and sprawling since I left - I think the late '90s and early 2000s were kind of the zenith of "anti-corporate/anti-growth" Davis, so I was lucky to live there when I did.

Mostly I'm wondering when the best time to hit up the Arboretum and campus in general for greenery would be, I can't remember when the best blooming is. As well, if there's any new bookstores or independent coffee shops to hit up. I'm already planning on going to Konditorei, Mishka's, and Avid Reader mostly for the nostalgia, but Roma and Bogey's are both long gone (perhaps not coincidentally both within a year of me leaving town?).

As well, if there are any non-Reddit/city-data Davis forums to ask the same thing, I'd love to know - I don't know if the Davis Wiki is still really active.

I think it has closed recently but I am not completely sure. Try to call them or ask locals.
