Sacto 9-1-1: Arden Way standoff ends: Suspect fatally shot, baby safe

Sacramento standoff over; gunman killed, baby hostage OK | News10.net | Sacramento, California | News

This whole fiasco leaves me with several questions, I don't know about you guys.

Why would the suspects cousin allow him to stay there when he was wanted? No, I don't want to hear they didn't know he was wanted because they all know, they always do. This person I feel should get charged with child endangerment for allowing a armed wanted felon to seek refuge in their residence. This is the part that bothers me the most.

Lets say the cousin didn't know suspect was wanted. Why would you allow a violent mentally ill relative stay at your house?

Why would they allow something like this go on for so long? Isn't there a way to use tear gas / pepper type bomb to get the suspect to come out? I know we have a lot of technology. I'm sure they could have used a device to look through walls to see when he was not with the child in a room.

How many peoples lives have to be inconvenienced before they were to act quicker? Why wasn't the use of deadly force authorized earlier?

Last but not least, who is going to pay for this? Well I know it's us who pay taxes but we should get compensated.

I am sure I can answer all my own questions but trying to see everyone else's take on this event.

I know it was a touchy suspect because of the child and I am glad the child is ok. I am also glad everyone else gets to go home and live there own lives without this guy endangering anyone elses lives.

Consider the area and the people. They care more about themselves and government handouts then their children.
