My family and I are really looking forward to camping in Utah this year. Do you need to make a reservation before hand? Can you camp where ever you want? In Idaho I know you can without worrying about finding a place.

We tend to like to camp where there are no people around.

Are there usually fire bans?

Thanks.

I would recommend reserving a place, but if you are going to back country I am not sure you can even reserve it anyway. Thats more first come, first served.

Where are you looking to camp?

Honestly, I have no idea yet. We are moving to SLC here in about a month. I'm just thinking ahead. LOL! Some where there are trees and possibly by some sort of water. I'm tired of desert camping while being here in AZ!

Yeah i am sorta the same, I can't understand desert camping.

We have had a great time camping in the Uintahs near Duchesne and East canyon north of Park City area.

Of course, the best camping so far was Yellowstone/Jackson Lake/Tetons. That was probably the greatest family vacation ever. But thats not Utah.

I've never been to any of those places so we'll have to check them out for sure!
