The "Occupy" folks move out of the way for the Farmer's Market and there is no conflict. It looked to me like all the vendors were there this morning. Lots of peaches and plums and apples from the local orchards, plus the usual root vegetables, breads, jams/jellies, etc. Still have the local raspberries, too.

I bought some Utah-made lavender soaps to give as Christmas presents - and found out there is a culinary lavendar. I got some lavendar/apple jelly for myself.

As I was leaving, I realized I was across the street from Bruges, the newish Belgian waffle place. I had seen a great write-up of it so I stopped there for breakfast. It reminded me of someplace in Paris (or Brussles or Gremany, that continental kind of place). Outdoor seating and homemade creme fraiche that is amazing! The waffles are great and they have an assortment of toppings. Several young families with babies but NO crying children. Clearly several other market shoppers besides myself.

Supporting local businesses is a point of pride for me and I hope you feel the same.

I was there today too! I wasn't sure when the last day is (I think there are 2 more) & wanted to make sure I made it at least one last time. Got a Christmas present for my grandma & sis-in-law, bingo!

oh, wanted to comment on the 99ers!

It was interesting reading their signs, I learned something. It was also interesting how "communal" they've made it...a dishwashing station, a hygiene station, ect.
