Hey, the other day I had a century link service man come to my house to do some maintenance, and he told me there will be a free Internet upgrade to all residents of Daybreak to 40 mbsp in January 2015, due to the new prism tv coming. I am wondering if anyone has heard this, and when it is coming exactly? I am beginning to think he was either lying or didn't really know for sure or not. Thanks guys.

I had a Century Link salesperson come unannounced to my house in West Valley about 3 weeks ago and tell me basically the same thing. Something something fiber optics, something something 40mbs.. She tried to get me to sign up for an introductory rate and promise future rate reductions, you know the drill..

I asked if she wanted to see my rock and fossil collection.. she wasn't interested.. Likewise, I wasn't interested in her internet sales gimmicks, heh.

I'm not saying the technician was full of crap, but like all telecom companies, I think they may just be trying to drum up business.

I live in Herriman and was upgraded to the 40mbs service a couple years ago. I pay about $35 a month.

Century Link is busting their chops to build as much of a customer base as they can before Google Fiber shows up in the Salt Lake Valley. They have a limited window (a few years) and they know it.

Last I heard, the upgrade was for real. And they're pushing it hard.

Turns out it is real, upgrade is rolling out over the next 90 days to all daybreak residents with the fiber optic network. 40 down and 20 up and no extra cost!
