I wish I'd become a veterinarian! I am 40 yrs old and in the last 10 years of my life, I have been in so many emergent positions where I needed a vet.

First off, 7 yrs ago, I moved to Bulverde with my husband and my mother. When we bought our home, the previous owners said....there's a couple of cats that live outside...we just feed them in the carport. I was like....awwww...

Well, as you can imagine.....2 turned into 30 and we fought a vicious cycle for years and from bottle feeding the abandoned kittens, trying to trap as many as we could to get them spayed/neutered, picking up dead cats that died who knows how....it's been a losing battle overall.

We are now down to just a handful, but it gets super discouraging without any help.

Also, since we have been out here we've adopted 6 dogs....all of them dropped off in the area...abandoned. We are truly at our limit...both physically and financially.

The best value for cat food is the Hill Country Fare brand at HEB.....but at 16.39 a bag now and lasting a week....that gets mighty expensive.

So....the reason I'm here today is to find out if I have any luck streak at all. I know that if I had become a vet, I would be 'giving back' and probably doing more of that than making money if I were to guess.

I have a totally different stray who got into my fenced yard in the back and unfortunately....dogs will be dogs and my dogs got this one by the back end. She's really doing fine and I've never seen such a lovebug in my whole life, I'm already in love. Her back leg almost seems to be out of socket. Kind of like a shoulder. Now, I have seen enough animals now to know they will mend themselves and she can easily make it through life limping on her three legs, but she is really young and it seems like a simple fix, maybe not even surgery.

I am totally strapped as you can imagine. My husband is no longer here, my mom is retired and I have been employment-challenged for quite some time. With our bills and all that we give back to these animals, I simply don't have a dime to help this poor cat.

I'm really not looking for handouts from anyone....I want to find a vet who is hopefully like me....a connection for an emergency such as this.

I will post this and see what happens now. Thank you.
