Someone else posted here that they knew someone whose kid was admitted to Keystone one year and dropped the next because she didn't qualify for the next grade. Once you're in, you're not in forever.

I realize this is an old post, but came across it and thought I would share for others to know.

From my experience applying for Kindergarten: In the application, there is some paperwork (basic info + letters from former schools) and then there are basically two components of the evaluation process: First is the roundup, which is a time after application when prospective students come in to the school (without parents) and do some exercises with the teachers, so they can get a sense of whether the student is ready to do the work. The second is that students take a test with an outside psychologist that is scored and normalized on a national level.

Overall, I felt like the process went very smoothly, and the staff and teachers were very accommodating to answer questions.

There was no formal feedback from the roundup, but our child had fun. You do receive a copy of the scoring from the standardized tests. I'm not sure what the cut off is, but it worked for us and we were accepted.

This school has always been and will always be exceptional for the right kid. Non-mainstream...allows and ENCOURAGES kids to "think outside the box" and develop talents and skills without having to conform. They stand head and shoulders above the others that are "status" schools based on academic abilities vs $$$$.

Their track record of developing and nurturing "free thinking" leaders is amazing, especially in the math and science worlds!

Glad to see you made the cut, your childs live will be better for it.
