Robbing someone at gunpoint is a serious crime. It's more serious than theft, drug dealing, and burglary without a weapon in my opinion. The serious felons (murderers, child molesters) are transferred to state prisons anyway. I say if the castle doctrine applies, then it's a serious crime.

Ashbeigh....just a question....If someone carjacks you at gunpoint do you consider this a violent crime or "just the way society is"?

I'm sorry but she had a gun. That makes it a violent crime. I refuse to think we will just accept it as normal behavior. As such, she can stay in the crowded jails.

Of course I do. I didn't say I didn't think she shouldn't be in jail right now. She was let out on bond for another offense, not this one. My point was, which i made earlier, is that it was mostly probably a slow news day and they could make a big deal out of it..looks like they did.

She was released on bond for the carjacking. She was already arrested and released earlier in the month for the August robbery.
So my whole point to this was it is insane that she is out on bond for her second offense especially when this one involved a gun.

Innocent until proven guilty, or guilty until proven innocent?

This stupid chick went to a friends car lot, bought a car on buy here pay here, a jeep grand Cherokee, drove it for a month, totaled it without insurance, and my friend is out over 10k on the vehicle. Her brother and her father, sells cars at a high line import store in Boerne. Not model citizens....
It's amazing how people can take advantage of other people without any guilt or remorse......
I don't understand that...

they found her driving the car that she carjacked. Is there anything else you need to prove she is guilty?

San Antonio needs bigger jails if carjacking with a weapon is not seen as a violent crime. And the little cutie is lucky it didn't end with *her* splattered all over the road. Nasty little *b* is what she is. People are getting more and more fed up with crap like this, the tougher the economy gets, I've noticed. You could say the economy made her this way, but let's be honest. It didn't.
