Hello! Can y'all give me an idea on how much to expect to pay for Homeowners Insurance? My husband and I are planning to build a home out in Helotes in a couple of years. We're thinking about puting in a pool as well, maybe. A friend of mine lives in Stone Oak, and he said they pay $1800 a year, which I thought was kind of high for Texas, but they have a pool.

Would appreciate the feedback

Way too many variables - home value, construction, in/outside city limits, available firefighting units/distance, etc. You need to talk w/several different companies as you get closer to building time. One I'd highly recommend is Germania....we've been quite pleased w/them.

I'm paying about $500 a year for my homeowners insurance. My parents have a house with a lower value and less square footage, insured by the same company, and they pay a lot more for their insurance, because their house is older.

We're looking at paying no more than $600k for a custom built home on an acre. The neighborhood is not in the San Antonio city limits for tax purposes. We would have to pay Town of Helotes taxes.. Not sure if that helps. We'd probably go with USAA since we have everything else with them.

I pay 1,800 a year for home insurance but I have an inground pool. I use state farm as I have for 10 years now. They don't have the best prices but they have always taken good care of me.

I think for the online quote you've got to have specifics about construction materials and location and all that stuff.
