Hi all! I'm looking for a preschool that has extended hours for my son. He one more year of preschool, but I am returning to work now, hence the full time hours. We have toured Trinity Preschool off of Blanco, the Children's Lighthouse and many others in between. Trinity is the cheapest and we liked it ok, but I really liked the Lighthouse, but can't quite justify the almost $200 monthly difference. Can anyone recommend any other schools or give any feedback on Trinity? Thanks!

It's been a few years since we have been in the preschool, but St Thomas Episcopal (281/1604) has preschool with extended care hours available. IIRC, you can drop off at 7 am at the earliest (for an 8am school start), and pick up at 6pm (11:45 or 3 pm school end).

We have friends that are very happy with Trinity. We thought about taking ours there, but have them at Shearer Hills Baptist because of proximity. We're incredibly pleased with Shearer.

What hours are you needing and what area of town? My daughter is going to Coker Methodist, hours are 9-3:00 but you can do extended care and drop off at 8:30 and/or p/u at 3:30.... but certainly not all day.

Kriterion Montessori is excellent. 7:30 to 3:30 and you can enroll your child on the after care that goes until 5:30.

In what area of town are you looking for the school? My daughter is at St. Andrews Weekday School, which is around the northern border of Alamo Heights/Terrell Heights and Northwood. We absolutely love the school. Core hours are from 8:30 to 3 (or 3:30 - can't remember), but you can opt for before and after school care for an additional fee. Before school care starts at 7:30 and after school care goes to 5:30.

I second St. Andrews Methodist Preschool. Both my children went there. They are NAEYC accredited and really do a great job. I drove 25 miles to have them go there, though there wee many preschools/daycares closer.
