When I was young in the 70s, we used to catch frogs and then release them. One night, we caught as many about 40 of them. I don't see or hear them anymore. Are there any in your neighborhood?

Little ones, yes.

It's the fireflies that have totally disappeared in my neighborhood.

We have medium-sized toads in our neighborhood (Alamo Hts area), but haven't seen any since the last good rain in June. Usually see them at night.

We have toads in our mulch and potted plants, Texas spiny lizards in our mulch and they climb our window screens at night, sparrows on our front porch that have already had 2 sets of babies... You name it, we probably have it...

Toads are in our neighborhood. They live in the mulched areas of our yard and have been seen out by the light pole in the front yard at night. I saw one good size toad last week almost the size of my hand, the rest have been smaller.

I see a good handful of toads in my Tobin Hill backyard. One likes to sleep in a crack by the side of my porch, and another sleeps under a chunk of sidewalk. Here's one of my favorites, hanging out in a pile of paint chips:

We had a nice-sized toad in our backyard for several years, but I haven't seen him in a long while. I think he either moved on because the yard is so dry (we can only water once a week, per the restrictions) or he croaked (pun intended).

Our two terriers used to play with him a little, I sometimes think they also licked him because they would come back inside acting goofier than normal!

Cheers! M2

I have one that spends the night in my dogs water bowl outside. The dogs run him off in the morning when they go out. I think he spends his days over by the AC drain line enjoying San Antonio's humidity in condensed doses.

Far NW - saw one big toad a week ago on the driveway near the garage door. Kept trying to shoo him away so I could open the door without him getting in. Very stubborn. Kept on head butting the garage door. Finally herded him onto the lawn.

Have had lots of them before. First I saw this year.

Yes, but less of them than in the past 5 years. They like to live in my sprinkler valve housings. Use to find at least two in each of them. Now there are only a few total.
