I'm planning to visit San Antonio from Dallas this weekend. I don't have a car. I'm thinking about taking Amtrak and then public transit in San Antonio. I just want to visit a few places - Alamo, River walk, Sea world and Natural Bridge Caverns. It just costs approximately $80 round trip for Amtrak. Is it a good idea to take the train or should I rent a car?

I'm pretty sure you'd need a car to get out to Natural Bridge Caverns. Downtown is definitely doable on the bus, Sea World might take a couple hours to get to on the bus depending on where you're staying.

Amtrak is a good way to see the state except the sceduale has it running mostly at night and arriving in SA late at night. It arrives at St. Paul's square, close to the hotels and center of downtown. Except for Sea World and Natural Bridge Caverns you do not need a car. Via Trans(bus transit) does go to Sea World.
