Started a new job on Stone Oak Parkway near 281...looking for an apartment rental in that area. I'm looking for something with the least amount of carpet as possible. (I have small dogs) also looking for something in a quiet community. I'd prefer it to be really close to my work. Any ideas on luxury apartments? A lot of the ones that I did find want like $2000 in un-refundable deposits for my dogs alone.

Stone Oak traffic may be a bit much but it is worth it. Stone Oak is the most pristine and safe place in San Antonio.

I've lived in the Stone Oak area since June. I originally lived on the NE side of town and am born and raised in SA. Besides the crappy traffic at peak times, I love living in this area. Check out Mission Hills Apartments off 281 and Evans. Not a bad place to live but they built a new complex called Evans Ranch or something like that which will make things a little crowded when it starts to fill up with folks living there.

I live by there. It's not bad at all, but traffic during rush hour can get tough. Be wary of the school zone times by Barbara Bush Middle School, it WILL slow you down significantly at rush hour. Stay in the left lane for through traffic.

And please don't run over me when I'm out and about running on Evans Road

Eh, according to bcad.org, it was one of the smaller houses in Champions Ridge. Not too impressive.

There are 2 distinct neighborhoods: "The Estates at Champion's Run" & "Champion's Ridge".

The former is the most "topnotch" & the latter is upscale as well, but in a lower price range.

There are many homes in other upscale subdivisions of SO that have much nicer homes than many in the Estates of Champions Run. You'd be surprised just how much variety there is in Stone Oak.
