We are considering moving out of Florida, and were wondering what the taxes/insurance situation is in the areas around San Antonio. Right now we have 1/4 acre and a 2000 sq ft house, and we pay around 3000/yr in taxes and 1500/yr in homeowner's insurance.

What would we expect to pay on a 2000-2500 sq ft house on a small lot (like in a community) in San Antonio or the surrounding areas?

Thanks a bunch.

Hello roslein,

My house fits in your category and I pay around $2,900 a year now in property taxes. Of course, newer houses tend to be priced higher, so use 2.9% rate to give you a rough figure on how much yours will be. As for home insurance, I pay around $750 yearly (all brick house with standard 1% deductible).
