There's a bunch of threads on here already, you might want to do some searching. Your commute is dependant on what time you leave in the morning. If I leave my house near Seaworld at 0700 it takes almost 30 mins to get to Lackland. Unless you left really early Brandeis isn't going to be in your 30 minute window.

Brandeis HS

Brooks City-Base

Might look into this:

Brooks Academy of Science and Engineering
3803 Lyster Road, San Antonio, TX
(210) 633-9006

Brooks Academy of Science and Engineering, Lyster Road, San Antonio, TX - Google Maps

BTW, as for apartments there are many new and more being built on City Base and nearby. Good shopping and restaurants and most amenities in walking distance. Still fairly secluded and peaceful area.
Isn't that like a for-profit charter school that operates mainly on vouchers? Don't think it would be a good fit for the OP.

I don't know. It was a last minute thought for which I edited my post to add. I knew it was there on City base and quite convenient. I posted a link to info for OP to read if interested.

It's a public charter. Not sure what all that means.... might be worth looking in to for the OP if that's appealing to their family.
