Cost for grass cutting and shrub trimming? (condo, how much)

I am planning to buy in the next few months. and at this point am not sure whether I will be buying a condo or a single family home. A condo is attractive because of the lack of yard work required of me, but they usually come with only patios, and I really would like a small yard so I can have a nice place for a dog. What I am wondering is, how much does it cost to have professionals mow your lawn and trim the shrubs, do edging, etc? Do you sign up for monthly service, or call them when you want to come out?

i guess it depends on length of grass and size of yard to mow.
we would call for service whenever we needed it, the grass grows back quick after it being trimmed. we usually pay $50 front and back and we live on a corner lot.
