Hi all,

I have posted my apartment for rent on Craigslist for over a month now, with incentives, but I'm getting no inquiries. Where else do people advertise? I appreciate the input!

Mary

I thought you were going to say that craigslist was creating too many unqualifid leads. But if you're not getting any leads, there is probably an issue of price relative to location/quality. If you have a higher-end listing, I'd list with a broker, as your corporate relocation prospects will probably be represented by their own broker and use MLS.

If the complex is in one of the inner loop areas like Alamo Heights or Tobin Hill or something it may get lost with all the broker listings (there is one on Victor that keeps posting over and over and over again). Try to add pictures and a catchy headline on CL. That's what gets me to look.

Not sure if it's only for brokers, but my wife and I found our place on Zillow.

What in the world does that mean?

I am currently searching (not in SA though) and I look on Trulia, Hotpads, Padmapper, Craigslist, and Realtor.com.

it means the poster youre responding too is extremely ignorant about the types of people that frequent internet websites.

sure, there are a ton of weirdos on the internet, but there are also decent people.

i suspect he's just trolling from a bad experience he had on craigslist.

Your local newspaper is a good place to start with regard to renting an apartment. Sometimes your city might have a newspaper that is free or at least a lot cheaper than the "daily news" where you can place an ad. Also, as you walk out the grocery store doors, often times there are different free newspapers that you can take. Ask the info desk in the grocery store how you can advertise. Your last option would be to go to a Real Estate office and ask for help in advertising. It would be expensive but I think lots SAFER than Craig's List.
In all honesty I have heard some horror stories about Craig's List so I would be careful with that for sure!
Good Luck
