Forgive me if this has been asked...my spouse is searching for a bale or two to decorate the yard for Halloween/Thanksgiving.
I did look on Craigslist, but the selections all seem to be fairly far outside the city. Any place closer for that kind of thing?

Call any feed store - they'll have 'em.

I've seen tiny bales at Walmart and Michaels.

The tiny bales, I'm afraid won't do it. She has a huge, old antique wire bin/basket to fill.
We're off to find Lockhill Feed...not too far away.
Thank you for the help!

IIRC, A news story stated that hay prices this year were much higher, due to the drought. One of those large "rolls" used to sell for about $40, and now sells for $90.

Can you "fake" one?

Nah - I'm sure they're looking for the standard square bales - round ones would weigh WAY too much for the average homeowner to even move.

Right, but I included that info for comparison.

My co-worker from Devine ended up dropping one off on our front porch that day!

Schultz Nursery on Broadway had standard square bales for around $12. The guy there told me they sell 100s of them each year. Supposedly from some sort of sweet grass and not treated with anything.

They were pretty good looking bales.
