We will be visiting the Stone Oak area over our spring break. March 11-17th. We will be staying with my parents during our visit. They are in their 70's not very active and fairly new to the area. They live in or around the stone oak area. I will be responsible for finding things to keep our 4, 5 year old sons and 13 year old daughter busy. I've considered the S.A. Zoo and the children's museum, but that's as far as I've come. I think Six Flags may be a bit too expensive for all five of us. Are there places the kids can swim indoors perhaps or indoor waterparks near by. I'm sure there will be a day that we go to the river walk and the markets, but something tells me the younger boys may not take to shopping all that much. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I would plan a full day for the Doseum. We had some friends come down from Dallas and they spent the day there with their 4 and 6 year olds. Apparently they had to pull them out kicking and screaming at the end of the day! Not sure about the 13 year old - might be a little too old for that.

The zoo is great, but it will be PACKED during spring break. Worth going, because I think it's a great value, but be prepared for a ton of people trying to enjoy it that week. Just next door to it is the Japanese Tea Gardens....the kids may get bored but it's free and very beautiful. The little ones may enjoy the train ride in the park next to the zoo but the teenager will probably want to gouge their own eyes out. Lol

Sea World and Six Flags are fun, but expensive. They'll also be packed.

The Riverwalk is beautiful and I think all ages can enjoy it. Market Square is fun but it is very touristy and will likely be packed, too.

It will be busy wherever you go so just give yourself extra time to see everything. Have fun!

Institute of Texan Cultures...my kids loved it when they were young even.

Have a picnic on the grounds of the McNay Museum.

The Witte is free Tuesday nights.

Not in Stone Oak, but check this link for indoor swimming.

There are a few of those indoor trampoline places around. Just watch your stuff in those cubbies. Lots of theft, especially with phones.

If the weather is nice a picnic and splash time at Guadalupe State Park would be so fun!
