Sorry, but driving isn't the same as sitting on one's couch watching TV!

If a new driver can't handle the stress of a driving test, then maybe they aren't ready to be out in traffic with everyone else!

You ought to see what people in other countries have to go through to get a drivers license. It makes ours look like they come out of a vending machine. The test in this state is a joke, a simple parallel parking exercise in a space that's 1.5x larger than any you'll find in the real world, 5-10 minutes of driving on moderately easy roads and then they hand you a license to operate a motor vehicle on public roads.

There is no highway test, no heavy traffic test nor do they have to drive in a large parking lot like at a mall. Those are where their skills need to be tested, not on a casual stroll through a neighborhood!

Your response is typical of today's society, if a few people can't handle something then we must lower the standard! It is why we have so many bad drivers on our roads, so many accidents and such high insurance rates! I paid more to insure a car in San Antonio than I did in Germany, where we could drive on the autobahns with no speed limits!
