You are right. I never do think of medical center as being NW side though.

What do you think of it as? For me, it's right smack dab in the middle of the northwest side. Or do you think of it as being independent of any side of the city?

It feels more central to me or at least right on the tip of NW side.

Hmm. Looking at downtown as the center of a compass I always put it in the northwest side. It's always interesting to hear how others describe the city.

It may be the tip but it's far from the center.

San Pedro @ Loop 410 is the middle of the northside, the Medical Center is in the middle of the northwest side.

With some people calling 1604 and Potranco Northwest I can understand how the Medical Center can be seen as more central to some; although I'm on your thought that San Pedro and 410 is smack dab in the middle of the north side.

You mentioned a compass good example, I think of it as a pie with downtown the middle of the pie. With the city sliced into different pieces. Potranco at 1604 is due west of downtown more than northwest, Culebra/FM 471 is where the northwest side ends. The westside or in this case the far westside has to begin and end somewhere, it ends at Hwy 90 to me and the southwest side begins. Loop 410 only has 4 parts NW, NE, SE and SW, Northwest Loop 410 ends at West Military and SW Loop 410 begins.

I agree with this except, I think 75% is on the low side when considering illegals. Just looking at the map itself says that the hispanic population that reported is well over 70%.

San Antonio has a lot of hispanics. It does NOT have a lot of diversity.

Compared to Nashville, San Antonio is New York City.
