I've been feeling so sluggish. I would stay in bed for most of the day if I could.

Default Mountain Cedar Pollen,

I feel for ya " derpy ". I too, used to get really sick from it, Cedar Pollen. Particularly I found that if I went for a motorcycle or dune buggy ride, the symptoms became far, far worse. The rush of pollen filled air at high speeds would make me extremely sick with rhinintis immediately afterward. So...this was my experience with
severe allergies.
Either I aged out of such extreme symptoms or my final allergist helped me tremendously. An allergist in Boerne had tried the skin injection tests to determine what I was allergic to ( -mother nature was the remark of this allergist,- most trees and grass pollens); then afterwards the direct injections of these same distilled allergens into the bloodstream to desensitize my system but nothing, nothing helped. I switched doctores.

My latest allergist suffers from extreme allergy symptoms too so he seemed to give me radical treatments for my severe symptoms. He just knew. They worked beyond any expectations I had. They were...
Nasal sprays (1) Nasonex, (2) Astelin (now renamed Astelpro) and- (3) prescription strength Claritin antihistimine tablets. Simultaneously. Two sprays in the nostrils from each inhaler and one claritin pill in the a.m.. I use these meds. sparingly now, I am so much better nowadays. I begin treatments well before allergy season begins. Two weeks. The nasonex is a steroid spray and stops the tissues on the inside of the nostrils from getting inflamed ahead of the beginning of the season. Bad aftertaste there is though, but well worth it.

"Sometimes only the wearer knows where the shoe wrings."
In this instance a Very true generalization. Only this particular allergist knew how to treat me because he was in the "same boat" as I was. A fellow severe allergy sufferer. Repeatedly too , He has worked other respiratory wonders with my kids too, years ago when they were small. I only began seeing him after a referral from an R.N. during a chance meeting at another doctors office while discussing this illness.

In the beginning, When I first ran out of these three meds. listed above I went to my family practitioner for refills and the guy refused, said "These medicines all do the same thing, so there is no use in prescribing this stuff to you at the same time, I won't prescribe you these meds. simultaneously. It would do no good.
Right.
" But.. my allergist prescribes all this stuff to me" I remarked. He looked at me suspiciously from the corner of his eyes as though I was telling him what to prescribe. So. I left.
Back to the the allergist I went again and he repeated the same three prescriptions. I remarked to him- and, he was a very, very young Dr. at the time- We have been very good friends ever since.
" You are the Doctor of my lifetime. After fifty years- I finally have relief from allergies." He looked at me and absolutely beamed with the pride showing through his eyes.

Though I am not completely symptom free today I would estimate that I am 90% better over how bad I used to be regarding these bad allergy symptoms. Merely the act of walking out the front door, and the sneezing
would commence sometimes immediately, years ago. Red bloodshot eyes, running and swollen red nose, blurry eyesight from tear secretions , nasal and sinus congestions, repeated continuing sneezing etc. Gone. That was crazy to suffer so badly. It IS miserable.

That says that mold count is "light". I'd hate to experience what "heavy" is like. Sigh
