My husband has a watch he wants to sell as he doesn't want it anymore. This was a gift from a previous employer. He never really liked it he is partial to his Swiss army watch. This one(forgot brand) we saw on eBay going for 1250-1500. He went to a mall jewelry store and the guy said he could get 900 from a reputable watch store but he didnt buy them. He said find a good one but stay away from pawns!!

Does anyone know of any? Tried google searching but no luck. Thanks in advance!

No idea, but based on what I know about markup levels at jewelry stores, $900 on a $1,200 watch would be unlikely unless it's a very popular model. If it shows as unworn and warrants a $1,500 retail, then maybe so.

I'd go with eBay. If you don't feel comfortable with that, there are watch forums such as Watchuseek where you could sell it to either individuals, or reputable dealers within the forum. If nothing else, you could get an informed estimate of value and what you could expect selling it to a dealer.

Watchuseek, The Most Visited Watch Forum Site ... In The World.

You don't mention the age, but if it's a 70s or older Longines I might be interested.

I'd give the forum a try first. Lots of knowledgeable people there and dealers who are longtime participants. There are subforums devoted to individual watch makers.

Good luck!

Try Goldmasters, 15721 San Pedro Avenue. They might or might not want the watch but they'll probably know or be able to suggest a good dealer. I totally trust Rick who is the owner.

I sold a high end watch to a jeweler in the Huebner Oaks shopping center. It'd called "Diamond and Jewelry Gallery". I went in having done my homework as to what it was worth. They were fair in the offer and I felt better selling it there than trying to sell it on Craigslist or something like that. Good luck!

Thank you so much for replies! We are actually on our way to the store recommendations.

Rapscallions- it is not a vintage watch it is a few years old. If the stores don't work out we will go to eBay I set up account already and was always curious how to do that as I am always the buyer not seller. Thanks!
