Did not know that Hill thanks for the information. I saw it as a downgrade from sizzlers.

I was the person who called in the fire alarm, was working as a bouncer at the Galaxy Billiards across the street.

The Steak & Ale is right around the corner from"Sugar's" and is also a strip bar, "Sum Beach" I believe the name is.

Miss the Sizzler...

I was asst. Mgr in 78 at Wurzbach w/Lee Cowsert then Howard Cole who had been asst with Keith Beitler at Walzem. I came from Houston and was transferred back to I-10 and Holland which I helped open, I helped open 59 at Windsor Park, 290 and whatever that became the Golden Tee strip club.I also managed Tidwell and 45 and then finally Beaumont for a year then went to Longhorn. They closed all restaurants in the 80's except for the Longhorn Cafe and Saloons which I worked at. Those were great times and people and would have stayed in business but Bill Sharman decided to renovate that old hotel The Lancaster next to home office and drained all the profits to accomplish that. It was finally sold off along w/ Charlie's 517 the upscale restaurant right below the home offices at 517 Louisiana. My bosses were Pres. Bill Sharman, Ron Bourque, Chris Schmidt, Gerald Jolly and David Moody. I've tried to remember Kathleens Gingerbread recipe but it has been too long. I do remember that both stores got together and gave me one heck of a going away party since we had trained the Walzem stores staff, I was very close to all, I'm 62 now was 25 when I was there but will never forget it!

Prior to Tony Roma's that was an Al & Mo's, a barbecue place started by the owners of Alama Cafe, I think.

I started working at the I 10 location of Gallagher's when they opened. I was working at the one in CC and moved to SA to help open that location. I worked there for about a year, first as a hostess and then as a bartender under Howard. Those were some great times!

Default Richardson Gallagher's

Joined the site after doing a google search online for Gallagher's.

I worked at the Richardson location from opening in 1979-80 as an eleventh-grader to 1982, first as a dishwasher, then as a waiter. I was one of only two original employees when I left.

I still have a couple Gallagher's mugs and a Flahoolick button.

A highlight was Charles Bronson and Jill Ireland coming in for dinner one night.

It was indeed a very fun place to work and I made lots of good friends there that shaped the rest of the decade for me and affect my life to this day.

One of them whom I had lost contact with 25 years ago passed on last October. I learned this only this week.

A toast to all you ex-Gallagher-ers out there.

Bud Jones, but I think Bud Jones predates the 70's.

Any of you remember Sambo's? I just barely remember it as I was very young. I remember the boy and the tiger and the delicious pancakes. I don't remember where it was though. I also remember a place off Ingram just after Callaghan in a shopping center there was a place called GW Franks or something to that effect. $.25 hot dogs and an arcade. We used to love it. I remember Fargos as well, Pizza Inn, Po Folks, Burger Chef.
