From today's SA-Express Business section:

MySA.com: Business (http://www.mysanantonio.com/business/stories/MYSA032808.01C.LaCantera_032808.2f0a402.html - broken link)

I'm sure this has been covered by the eagle-eyes here already, but does anyone know of prospective tenants in the center?

Prospective tenants we know about are Ruehl, Gilly Hicks, Urban Outfitters, Metro Park, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Gucci, Armani Exchange and Barnes and Noble. All of that is according to this thread.

There is an earlier thread which mentions an AMC theater. Someone posted recently that the theater has been put on hold, thanks to the Santikos theater opening at The Rim.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this a whole OTHER project the article is talking about? Phase II has always been on the calender, but isn't this something new here?

Basically 'Town Center' would compliment Phase I and II. Or, am I totally off and just dreaming of this much fine retail?

OIC now. The first sentence of the article referred to Phase II, so I misunderstood it to mean that this project was Phase II. This is "the next level" beyond Phase II according to the next paragraph. I don't see where this aspect of the project has been discussed before here.

Yeah we had a earlier post about this a while back. The project from what I saw is going to look real good. A nice break from the cookie cutter houses being built around there.

I lived in a development like that for a few years when I lived in San Diego. I loved being able to walk to on of 2 grocery stores (TRADER JOES!) with less walking than it took to get to my car. Most nights after i got home from work I never needed to get back in my car for anything because everything was close by.

Mixed use is a great idea as long as it isn't what happened at the colonnade where you need to drive from your apartment to the stores because the streets were laid out in a pedestrian unfriendly manner and the parking lots were the main design element...

Now all we need is a well planned rail transit system to tie urban villages like these to other employment centers and residential areas around town so people will be able to spend even less time in their cars.
