What do you think of the ladies who come into a bar to sell roses? Are they a nuisance or are they appreciated? Do you think they need a vendors license or not?

People do that? Why? For something to get you out of the doghouse if you stay out late? To try and sell them to guys who bring a girl to the bar? That seems a little low rent to me... Sounds annoying.

If they're not a part of the bar, sounds like they need a sales tax permit and permission from the owner. A Vendor License relates to food (don't eat roses! They're pointier than they look!). Here's the local website with costs and whatnot.

They technically should be taking in sales tax... odds are they don't.

Personally, I think it is tacky and always made me feel uncomfortable, like the person I was with (obviously before I was married) was EXPECTED to get one. Plus, I don't really like flowers that much.

I hardly ever see this, but I have in the past. I think it's very annoying.

They're definitely annoying. I actually lost cool points with a date because I bought her one.

I'll never do THAT again.

Annoying, skanky, slimy, disgusting. Like Lauren, I haven't seen it in awhile, but then again, haven't been to any "clubs" lately.

We used to live next door to a florist - her and her husband would do this on the weekends sometimes. They would go downtown or have a little string of clubs they would visit. I don't know if it was decent cash or not - I do know they knew a lot of the club owners on a personal basis. I think they gave a cut back to the club or something.

ugh! i remember when i used to frequent clubs it used to annoy the heck out of me when they approached my date and asked "rose for the lady?" --- i would always answer "NO" ---

i always remember the thought of this older guy in a 3 peice leisure suit that bought one and approached me with it --- ewww...i turned it down --- then he proceeded to walk across the club and try to give it to some other girl --- creep!!!
