Westcreeker here and I switched from Sprint (same no/weak signals) to Cingular (now at&t) 3 1/2 years ago and plan to renew again later this year!

We're going to visit Verizon, AT&T, Pocket and Cricket (if I can find one) stores today. Wife is excited about finally obtaining a quality signal.

Consumer Reports recently did a customer satisfaction survey with cell phone companies and believe it or not, sprint finished dead last with only 20% of their customers happy with them..
I don't think any company had a rating of over 50% and they made sure to point that out as well. They basically all stink and we're stuck with the best of bad..

a coworker's son has it and she hasn't said anything bad about them. He's had it for about a year, so I'm guessing that's a good sign..
I would recommend looking into whose signal they use though.

I would be interested in finding another carrier as well, even though I have to wait over a year for my latest contract to be up. I definitely will not do at&t though...
How much would it cost you to 'buy out' the remainder of the contract. When I was ticked at Verizon, their buyout amount sounded reasonable enough to me....
(but I guess I scared them when I asked, because they offered me a sweet upgrade, no addl upfront cost, and I accepted - no problems since....)

They wanted $200 to buy out my contract (15 months left)....I ended up having it waived by submitting a network problem ticket, which came back with them admitting that I had "little to none" indoor signal. That was all of the evidence that I needed to have the fee waived. It wasn't the money...it was principal.

Well, if I had kept reading on, I see you have probably found a way out of the contract....
good luck!

it would cost me $1000 because I currently have five lines, so that's not an option. That's why I'm going the network problem route.
I need to start on that today so I can get rid of them ASAP
