I know this question has been posted before, but I wanted an answer that's a little more uptodate. I'm basically looking to purchase a 1 Story, 3 bedroom, 2Baths, 1,500+ Sq. Ft. older home (built in the 1950s to early 1970s). My price range is at around 100-180K. I know that it will be impossible to purchase a home with this budget in Alamo Heights where most of the houses built during that era are located. I'm looking to relocate in early 08'. Is that a realistic budget or do you think I'll be priced out by then? Would I be able to find that kind of house for that kind of money? Thanks and Happy New Years to all.

You can find it no problem in the onlder neighborhoods on the west side, The Great Northwest and that area. The houses around there are in the low $100k's and built around 20-30 yrs ago. If you are flexible in the region in which you want to live there are plenty of places in your price range. There are even new homes in your price range in the west/nw suburbia.

Is not it great how San Antonio has a price range of homes as opposed to San Diego where the range starts at 600K and above!

it's MLS area 13, the zip code is 78218 or 09 the dividing line is right there. it's in NEISD, and is in city counsil district 10 or 2, again the dividing line is right there. Also another neighborhood to check out would be East Terrell Hills. It's in 13 as well and 78218

Altho real estate prices are suppose to increase this year again for San Antonio at least, there has never been here the type of double digit increases many other parts of the country has experienced. For those of us that already own a property (or two) that WOULD be nice, but I don't know that SA will ever see that type of increase....thoughts anyone????
