Not sugary Big Red and greasy Barbacoa. I used to enjoy Big Red when I was much younger but man that stuff is really bad for you... good for dialysis clinic business though. Not sure why SA is so loyal to that brand.

I like big red even though I don’t really drink coke anymore. Can’t stand barbacoa. Not sure why.

I agree that San Antonio people should be loyal to the Spurs, the Alamo, the Missions, whataburger, that’s about all I’ve got.

I moved to El Paso back in the 80s and the only thing I missed about San Antonio was Bill Millers. The only barbecue restaurant there was a fancy high end restaurant. Every time we came back to San Antonio for a visit, we would stop at Bill Millers. The #3 regular plate has a quarter pound of beef, three sides, and a 32 oz tea or soda for the cost of a hamburger, fries and soda at a burger joint.

The only thing I DO NOT like about Bill Millers is they play a RADIO in the dining rooms. Some play it so loud you cannot carry on a conversation, especially when the commercials come blaring on, and if one is eating alone, you can't hear yourself think. It's always on a country/western station. Some people do not like C/W. You can never please everyone when music is forced on you, so it would be better not to have it on at all.

^^ El Paso at least has a couple of Rudy's BBQ.... the only thing missing in EP would be HEB and Bill Miller. The Mexican food is superior in EP being right on the border.

I never thought of Bill Millers being a "fancy high end restaurant".

Many restaurants play the music or TVs way too loud. I guess, they think if customers can't carry conversations, they will eat and leave faster and free the tables for a quicker turnover

I never have, either. The only barbecue restaurant in El Paso I knew of at the time I was there was high end,

I think Bill Millers is basically a fast food restaurant to go to on a lunch break, or to take the family to if no one wants to cook.

Bill Miller's was a good deal but their pricing isn't a lot lower than Rudy's now. I still go there for fried chicken once every two weeks.

I go to Bill Miller's on occasion. Been to Rudy's in Selma a couple of times. Harmon's in Cibolo and Purple Pig in Schertz. Have to try Cooper's in New Braunfels one of these days.
