looking for some that I can use without being charged?
There are some at Taft High School, but I don't know if they are open to the public?
I love playing tennis but don't know where to go?

Hmm with school fast approaching I doubt you would be able to get any time in anyways. During the day they wouldn't allow you to be on campus grounds. I'm betting in the afternoon the school teams are using them.

If you live in Westcreek (or have someone who wants you as a partner that does live in Westcreek) we have courts at the Sports facilities.

Thanks. We usually start playing around 8 b/c before that it's just too hot... so students aren't an issue, just the fact that I don't want to be "trespassing" or something like that!

They're going to build a sport's park at Culebra and Loop 1604. I'd imagine they'll have tennis courts, but you'll probably have to pay.

I dont see it would be a bad to use the H.S. courts, you pay taxes to NISD right? We've gone (20+ people) to their practice baseball field to play games during the summer, and during the weekends. And we havent been booted yet.

I play with my daughters at the Taft high school tennis courts. During the school year it's a little harder because they are out there practicing. But so far no one has told us anything.

Your other option would be the Anne Marie tennis courts but those are by 410 and Culebra. The cool part about this place is that they have lights so you can play after dark.

Anyone rated? If so, you should join the local tennis league. I'm rated a 4.0 - 4.5 and I've been in the league for over a decade. You can call the area rep and he will put you on a team in your area. There's several teams for each skill level. As long as you know how to keep score, then you're good to go. You pay about $12-15 each season and provide either a can of balls or a drink for each match. It's cheap! There's singles, doubles, and mixed teams.
I highly recommend that you all at least look into it.

I haven't seen a court with lights that wasn't private, or cost you like $5 or so to play on. The lighting systems are far from cheap, and cost them to have and maintain. The cheapest place with lighting is going to be Ann-Marie (1604/culebra), Alamo Heights (airport), Windcrest (Walzem), or McFarlin (near SAC).

If you need directions to either of these, let me know.
