3-4 kiddos coming down for another tournament in your fair city. We're looking for spots to "warm up" for 20-30 minutes prior to heading to the tournament courts (which will be occupied). Tournament will be at NW Military & Wurzbach.

Specific area would be 1604 between I 35 & NW Military (we're coming from Austin). Google Map shows Madison HS, & Driscoll MS (near 1604 & Bulverde) with courts, but would they be locked when we would need them at 4pm on a Friday (or 8am on a Saturday?)

Or any open courts (not private) on/near Blanco or NW Military between 1604 & 410?

Might stop in NB also (would Canyon HS courts be available?....I know NBHS are available, but it's a 10 min. detour off I35).

Or are there some public park courts available near that stretch of 1604 (or near NW Military/Blanco)?

Thanks all.

I'm not sure about the courts at Madison High School whether they are locked or not. I do know they are brand new this year. You might call the school(637-4400) and ask for the tennis coach. School doesn't let out until 4:00pm at Madison, so that may present a problem.
Though, there may be a liability issue.

There are some tennis courts in McArthur City Park on Loop 410 off of Nacogdoches. Not sure what kind of shape they're in or their availability. City Parks and Recs can help you with that. http://www.sanantonio.gov/sapar/?res=1440&ver=true

I would also add that there are tennis courts in the Valencia subdivision by the clubhouse(located at El Sendero and Nacogdoches on the northeast side of town). But I believe they are on a first come, first serve basis and I'm not sure they are locked or how they feel about non-Valencia residents using the courts or whether they even care who uses them.
