The community out where Southwest High School is located (where Old Pearsall Rd [2536] meets 1604), does it have a name?

The school address is San Antonio; but the map simply says near San Antonio. I have driven through there on a number of occassion and cannot recall ever seeing any signs with a name on them. I was just wondering if anyone knew what that community is called?

Here is the area I am talking about.

Cheers! M2

I should know! Kept a horse out there way back! The reason for my confusion is a girl named "Big Donna". Used to go dancing in Quihi back in my prime. Lots of girls from MacDona would come. They all seemed to have this best friend named Donna. She was Donna from Macdona to me. To my old runnin buddy she became a bit more once. Used to laugh and kid about it. Still cracks me up.. what my buddy had to say for himself! I've been to the school way back also. Last New Years party went to was out Pearsall rd. almost to MacDona. Thanks Bowie!!

Nope, not Macdona. Macdona is a bit northwest on 1604 from where I am talking; and has a small volunteer fire department there.

I think the place I am talking about is called Mann's Crossing (also known as Mann Crossing). It begins just past the train tracks on Old Pearsall Road, crosses the Medina River, then goes all the way to 1604 where SW HS is located. There is an old cemetery there named Samuel McCulloch Cemetery. I just realized I had pictures from when I stopped there a while back (I like old cemeteries). There is also an old homestead there called the Krause House.

The odd thing is that Von Ormy used to be know as Mann's Crossing as well (according to Wikipedia), so I am kinda confused as Von Ormy is a few miles south of the community I am talking about!

Cheers! M2
