Yes, I know, no one makes them drink, etc etc. But it doesn't help. And making it any more attractive or easier definitely doesn't help, that's all I was saying. We can have all sorts of views and perspectives on the issue.

Understood... but you know.. life is easy at all kinds of things.. where do you draw the line at? People have to take responsibility for their own actions. I mean look at it like this.. there is porn on the web.. it makes it easier for people to surf those sites.. why dont we just shut down the web.. for that matter lets stop selling computers.. that way they cant get to the website.. seriously is it going to happen? No... lets stop blaming the people trying to make a living at what they are doing and give those people the responsibility for their own actions.

Cigarettes cause cancer.. lets shut RJ Reynolds down and Phillip Morris.. that way we wont get cancer.. right? Lets go back to prohibition that way we wont get people drunk.. will it happen? Nope..

Bottom line, lay the blame to those that are doing it.. and get away from blaming the people who are trying to make a living... the people buying should know their limitation and act as an adult and stop drinking when they have had enough.. wont happen.. we all know it.. thats what makes this crazy world go round...

It's not that simple as just "making a living" - some people see an easy market preying on the weaknesses of others, and I see a problem with that. So yes some of the blame lies on those that ruin themselves, but some lies with those that offer weak spots.

So I don't believe that shutting places like this down (or all places, etc) is the answer. I don't believe that going after master corporations that spend millions on advertising is going to solve the problem, but it will help. I think you're drawing a long line between the problems and far-fetched answers, and then calling it ridiculous that people think shutting these places down will do some good.

Oh, I know, let's just tell people to stop thinking, and then they won't have personalities or individuality or faults, and we'll all be lemmings. (yes I know it's a cliche comparison, I realize lemmings don't purposely commit mass suicide.)

Thats the thing about humans.. we all have vices.. and people benefit from those vices.. including restaurants who cater to these humongously over weight people who can not seem to stop eating... so its all around.. what to do? Nothing really.. nothing we can do to stop it.. my point is.. it isnt the people who are selling the stuff... its the people buying it... if there was no market for it.. it would have stopped selling by now..

basically it is pointless to blame HEB for selling beer at their grocery store.. cigarettes.. heck the National Enquirer (a prized newspaper that I believe is a piece of crap) or anything of that nature. We, the people, are to blame for our own stuff.

When a humungously enormous person loads up at the local Heifer Bar and gets in their minivan to drive home, my family and I are in no danger.

When a loser drunk liquors up at the Beer n All and stays in his Toyota Celica, well, there are a lot of us in danger.

Oh I forgot, the vehicle manufacturer is also at fault for allowing so many viced-people to drive.

All of us are also put in danger when people talk on cell phones and cause/nearly cause accidents. An accident almost happened with a lady in front of me this morning (after she cut me off). The worst part was the little boy in the passenger seat that would have been on the receiving end of things. I'm glad the other driver was able to stop in time. It seems like everytime I see a dangerous situation on the road, the driver is on the phone.

Absolutely! It would be nice if people would "hang up and drive" but the "I'm so important" mentality is so prevalent, and so deeply ingrained now that I think we're past the point of rescue. When you have a train engineer texting a teenager and causing a horrific accident with a huge loss of life, you would think that would be a wake-up call to all of us. But sadly, it's not.

Actually, that is not 100% correct... that over weight person "could" have a heart attack due to the weight and crash and kill someone while driving.. what are the possibilities of that .. minimal compared to drinking and driving.. but never the less there is a risk. But the point is.. it is the people who do it.. not the business that opens their door for them to do it in...

OK, I think we're stretching a bit here, but you can have the final say. Yes, a fatty can have a myocardial infarction after consuming mass quantities of macaroni and cheese, meatloaf, and a side of pizza. You are correct. In fact, every Sunday morning I open the paper, and lo and behold, there is an article in there about this very type of accident the night before.

DWF's are a terrible nuisance.
