Hello
Can anyone advise me on a great summer camp for my 8 yr old son? I work full time and want him to get an enriching experience while I am at work. Looked at the cool camp thru Incarnate Word but cannot afford 800 a week :0(

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I know from my experience working at a community college, they offer weekly camps, that run about $120. Cheaper than the camp you spoke of, and each camp offers different themes. The city offers certain places as well, but they sometimes have long waits, and hard to get in to.

The YMCA has some camps, also the local country clubs around town have camps, some priced better than others. Also San Antonio Academy has great stuff going on and then Greentree has a tennis camp. Dependss on what you want andwhat side of town you are on.

My kids went to Magik Theatre's Camp Showbiz for a couple of summers. They enjoyed it.

Try "College for Kids", which is offered by SAC:
San Antonio College - College For Kids

This is last year's link, but this year's link should be up soon. They run 2 three week sessions-if you chose all of the care options, it would run $330 for three weeks. You can have a morning and an afternoon class. They have academic (reading, writing, math) classes as well as enrichment (art, robotics).

Also, depending on where you live, the school districts usually have camps as well (I know NEISD and Northside both do).
