San Antonio is absolutely more conservative than Austin. Voting for Obama does not a Democrat city make. It does, however, speak volumes for the opposing candidate (big groan).

If I were 25 again, I'd pick Austin. Now that I'm 38, with two kids, I'd be in Round Rock.

As it stands though, I'm in San Antonio. I like it!

That wasn't the only example.

The point was to counter the SA is conservative BS claim.

Heh... not that I am in favor of one city over the other, but I do have to say... why are there "Keep San Antonio Lame" bumper stickers but none in Austin? (although the "Keep Austin Weird" Campaign does a pretty good job of filling that void)

If anyone ever sees this bumper sticker, I wish they could take a picture, never seen one myself.

KSAL was started as a joke, it is not to be taken seriously or literally. The artist who created KSAL loves San Antonio and wanted to create something ironic.

Bexar county is more of a bell weather county than anything else. It has voted correctly for the president in 12 of the past 13 elections. I think that means San Antonio has to pull a little bit to the left to make up for the more suburban vote which typically goes more Republican.

Definitely not as liberal as Austin, but San Antonio isn't an Arlington either.

Thanks from a third party. I too am looking to relocate th either SA or Austin (with tendancies towards New Braunfels). I'm 60, male, widowed and ride a RoadKing so my social requirements will be different. I enjoy the Mexican (Tex-Mex) culture. I lived in El Paso years ago but that's a completely different animal. Anyone care to comment? Thanks Jim

I've been in San Antonio for 1 year (from Missouri)
and I'm beginning to think that is not as conservative as people say.

Seems to me like the media in San Antonio is very right wing
for one thing, the Express-News (San Antonio's newspaper) was the first media ..... whatever is called that Rupert Murdoch bought in the US (owner of Foxnews).

I used to watch NBC in St. Louis because it seemed to me like it wasn't rightwing. NBC in San Antonio is WOAI and their radio station 1200 WOAI is the one that has Rush Limbaugh.
And now San Antonio has 106.7FM with Laura Ingraham and Michael Savage on FM. (His real name is Michael Weiner )
