Well, hell and damnation!!!
1.) I may be the sole person in here who has not run into a single Spur anywhere at anytime. I would probably pee my pants and cry if I saw my Boyfriend Bruce!!!

2.) I am heartbroken to hear that Timmy and his family are rude. I'm sure that every celebrity has to be very cautious and alert while in public, but it appears that the majority of the Spurs, at least, are very appreciative of the attention and affection of their fans. This makes me sick to hear, and I will forever look at them (Tim & Amy) with a different eye now. I guess I am surprised that she even allowed the family photo for the Spurs Calendar. I absolutely believe they have a right to protect their children, and appreciate their need to keep as much normalcy as possible in their lives, but, when you are rude to those that spend their money to see you play - and NO SMALL AMOUNT of money at that - they should at least be gracious even if they cannot, at that moment be somewhat accomodating. I know they don't HAVE to, and therein lies the very important difference.

3.) I'm not surprised to hear that the rest of them are friendly and open and able to acknowledge the folks who contribute to their fame and position... us, the fans.... the worldwide fans.... I have lived in several states and several cities (and will soon be heading for yet another one), and have never felt so connected to and impressed with a team and its members.

4.) When I was in highschool, I spent a weekend here and there at UCLA, where my older brother was attending college. He needed to spend some time at the library one Saturday morning, and I kind of hung around, looked through the library, took a few closeby strolls outdoors. On one such outdoor stroll, I turned the corner of the library building and my nose ran smack dab dead on into the belt buckle of Lew Alcindor, soon to be Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Well, maybe not my nose, I wasn't THAT short, but yeah... I was speechless and wide-eyed and he was profusely apologetic and concerned about my welfare.
ahhh, had I only had the sense to ask for an autograph.... but ... I have never washed my nose since that day.... just ask those who have met me in person.....

5.) I am equally intrigued by Pop, a one of a kind, endure no nonsense, sarcastic (like me - it's an endearing trait), seemingly very private person, with a quick wit and not a lot of fanfare. He is the same age as me and if we could just find a place to send HIS wife off to.... nahhh he's too old for me... I still like them young... like my Boyfriend Bruce.... heeheeeee
TTFN Friends~~~

Cut Tim and Amy some slack...they can't be in great cheery moods all the time. Let's be honest, all of us here have rubbed people wrong at some point because of all different reasons. But it doesn't really matter because we aren't famous. It would annoy the crap out of me to constantly be asked for autographs and never be left alone at public places. I realize they make alot of money but still some people are very private.

Agreed....not to mention they have 2 small children to tend to....that is a full-time job even for non-famous parents. Herding them through an airport and onto the plane and trying to deal with adoring fans would test anyone's patience. I still love Tim for what he does on the court. How he behaves in his personal time isn't my business.

But I'm still proud of Bruce for being such an all-around stand-up guy.

My wife took umbrage of my aforementioned criticism of Tim with his family. She is extremely protective of her children and perhaps it came across as being a snob.

I stand corrected.

Awwww....it's OK. We never know what's going on......the kid may need a diaper, Mom may not feel well, Tim may have left the stupid iron plugged in AGAIN.....they're just normal people who make a boatload of money, and provide entertainment for us....and since they are in our living rooms night after night during basketball season, we think they know us and ought to therefore love us! I bet they are very nice people.....

As my wife also stated, it's hard to be up all the time.

None of that explains breaking someone's camera or cutting a child off mid-sentence.

Their day will come soon enough where they'd pay to be recognized.

Don't feel bad PGR....I have never run into amy of the Spurs either. I would just *die* if I ran into Roger Mason, Jr.! . And I'd have to peel my daughter off Matt Bonner if she ever ran into him.

I'd sure hate for all of my indiscretions to be posted on an anonymous internet board for all to judge. MRS. Duncan broke the camera, allegedly, and Tim paid for it. I don't know what it's like to be filthy rich but I would imagine any and every Tom, dick, and Harry would be bothering me for some of my money, or looking for ways to hurt me. She's probably a bit protective of their family, and for good reason.

I don't know Tim's finances, but it's doubtful that he'll be paying anyone to recognize him any time in this lifetime.
