and this is a national program too. any parent can call their local school district to find out more on this particular program in their area, like what school in their area is doing it and what times. it's free, so why not?

There are so many kids that depend on school breakfast/lunch as there only source of a meal and once the school year ends, many of them lose that meal so thank God for this program.

I know right... and my hubby was saying, somewhere in politics, someone is trying to pull this program. I sure hope he heard wrong. The government is bailing out everyone these days... Why not bail out the ones that really count, the kids who have no voice or control over their situations...when it comes to food, I mean...

Thumbs down should've seen that one coming...

Geez! Isn't it funny? I keep forgetting everything is overanalyzed down to a T. So maybe I should just buy a couple of boxes of oatmeal and sandwhich stuff and call it a day. I mean, obviously if my kids utilize the program, me and my husband feel "entitled," we are "demanding" some sort of handout or we are "abusing" the system.

It's the overcritical and judgemental, one sided replys that really get you down.
Here's an idea! Instead of all the bashing, why not list the positive effects of such a program. Now, watch those same negative people say there isn't any.

I think if the child needs the meal then he or she should be given the meal. The child shouldnt be punished for the parent's shortcomings. Its not their fault.

I hate to see this thread go south, but I am sure it will. Annoying.
