SeaWorld is very protective of their animals (ever notice the containers the food comes in and the inability to get a plastic straw?), so they don't let people touch many of them. I know my daughter has seen a few in her office (she works there) and that's a good way to make a person's day. I'd love to have a little penguin come walking by while I'm wishing I was anywhere but work. They're some stinky little things, though.

BTW, I went to Alaska last year and didn't see one penguin. Luckily I wasn't looking forward to seeing any either I saw a killer whale, though

see those killer whales every day .. they are 5 beautiful, wonderful mammals!!

Sea World does offer a Penguin Encounter it is 28.00per person, it is a tour of the back area with you actually going into Penguins up to the snow. You may or may not get to pet one depending on the day and Penguin temperment that day. You cannot bring any child under the age of 4 to this encounter
