This is probably a ridiculous question but....okay. I have been running the northern part of the riverwalk for about a year and a half now. There's one spot, the Jones Street Bridge right between the Luxury and the VFW post that has animal sounds being played at all times of day (I've heard it early in the morning and in the evening so I assume it's an all day thing). Who is responsible for it and why are they being played? It's just so odd that it's just in one spot. Any ideas?

My favorite installation along the Museum Reach is the school of floating/hanging fish (F.I.S.H. by Donald Lipski).

The San Antonio River Foundation was responsible for putting up the public art and most likely still maintains it.

Bill Fontana is the artist who created the sound installation you are inquiring about.

Interesting. I just thought it was a business in the area that did that, not an art exhibit.

Regarding the Sonic Passage installation, it sort of fails for me in its intended purpose: to enhance the "local" soundscape of the river.

While I have never been to a jungle it sounds rather exotic to my ears. It does not fail in enhancing that stretch of the Riverwalk and still brings a mild smile to pass through.

My eyes always light up with the fish no matter how many times I have seen them.

It's public art. On the wall near there is the display's information.

Merovee, I have spent quite a lot of time in tropical jungles and I wouldn't say it's quite the same, but it's nice to hear it.

Hello fellow runner. Yes there is a plaque nearby that explains it in more detail.

I love the fish as well, would be cool if the artist ever expanded on this theme and did more pieces along the river.
