Hello... We moved here from Reno and I would to say SA is awesome! Here is my question... Where would I need to go to get my daughter involved in sports? She wants to play soccer and softball and I have no idea of where to go to get her started Reno is such a small town and is so easy to get around. Here in SA there are so many different "districts" and not being familiar with the areas it makes it little difficult. She goes to Huebner, which is on the NE side... I know that the seasons probably have started here. Are there any summer leagues?

Also, where are places that we could go to meet other familys and or other people? It is so hard trying to meet new friends.."sigh" Sorry if this ths last question sounds a little desperate

I would really appreciate your input...

Thanks!

[quote=air311;632547]Hello... We moved here from Reno and I would to say SA is awesome! Here is my question... Where would I need to go to get my daughter involved in sports? She wants to play soccer

My daughters both played soccer for years. We live in NE San Antonio. They played for years in the Ft. Sam-Alamo Heights Soccer league and loved it. I assume this still operates and you might find a site for it online. There are also "club" teams such as the "Lions" football ('futball") club which I think has a website as well. They practice in Schertz, I believe (or used to) at a place called "Soccer, Texas".

Good luck!

My son went to Huebner, then Harmony Hills, and we were constantly getting info sent home regarding all the sports--I can't even remember the name of the organization right now, but it will come to me at 3AM! Also, there is a YMCA out Blanco past 1604 that probably has sports leagues for summer. Don't worry, there is tons of stuff for the kids to do here!

As far as meeting people, here is a place to start. They just had a meet and greet and I think they are planning another one soon. When you do get the kids hooked up on a team, that's another way. We have met a lot of people at our church, but I know that's not always everybody's thing. You may try your homeowner's association, too. Ours has lots of monthly activities for all ages.

Good luck, and welcome home!!
