Thanks, LG. I don't break out from waxing, but I have 2 red stripes across my forehead for about 2 hours afterwards. It's so embarrassing. My last session has me with one pretty arched left brow, and a rounded right one. The link says the threading is more precise, so I may try it. I just really crave the whole wax experience. Weird, yes.

Actually, my wife informs me that they do it on Lackland AFB as well; in the BX right in front of the barber shop...

Sapphire, you are nutty!

THIS is what I was thinking! I would think the threading would just hurt very very bad for a long time. While, waxing is quick and sort of painful. Thanks!

Yikes, I'll just stick with waxing then. I don't know, I've just had good results from Aveda's more natural products and last time they used a tea infused ice pack thing to put on my brows and I did NOT break out. It was awesome. Why change if something is working for you? Right?

I hate threading. It's plucking out groups of hairs instead of one big rip. Threading hurts like a mofo. I tried getting my upper lip threaded.......HOOOOOLY COW !@#$!@#$. THAT was awful!

The price is the same as waxing. I believe it's $18 at Petra's.

I tried it and I thougt it was less painful than waxing... if it's done right it should not hurt at all. They ask that you help and hold the side of your eyebrow making it a litle taut so that when they use the thread you don't feel it.

The things we put ourselves through for beauty!

Sapphire, the last time I got my brows waxed, they actually said, "is this the first time you've ever done this? Your skin is sooo red!" Um, no, I get them waxed about every 6 weeks! THAT is how bad it is for me. Also, mine stay red/broken out for DAYS! It's weird, but that Aveda tea ice pack thing really works for me. I just need to remind them about it every time I go, last time they didn't do it and it was not good for me.

I prefer threading to waxing. Neither are painful to me, but I had heard threading or tweezing is better. Well, this morning I am watching Rachel Ray and they just had an eyebrow segment. The lady that does her makeovers, Mally Roncal said that waxing is the worse thing you can do. She said that the skin around the eye is very delicate and the hot wax and pulling will do damage in the long run. Makes sense to me.
