stay away from KB, Centex, and Sivage my sister lived in Bridgewood and has had so many problems with her home....my friend bought with Sivage and now she has nicknamed her builder Salvage my sitter lives in the Silver Oaks neighborhood (Centex) and her house is very poorly constructed good size but has the monopoly look plus they had plans for a pool but now the HOA is saying they cant afford one....yet they have over 3000 homes planned for the community... dont let the huge incentives get you....you get what you pay for (there is never a free lunch)...i would stay off of Shaenfield PERIOD... and move further down maybe off culebra in Alamo Ranch there are some very nice beautiful builders I checked out Tristone Homes a month ago and loved the quality of the homes and was impressed by their features...a lot of features are included

good luck with your home search

We just recently moved into the silver oaks subdivision. Not sure about the above comment of poorly constructed, with our house being wonderful. 2 year fit/finish warranty (which can be extended) and full warranty on the foundation as well. We love our house, and neighbors as well. Guess we are lucky, considering this is not the 1st time we were told to stay away from centex. not having a pool wasn't a huge deal breaker for us, and for it being our 1st home, I think it has huge potential.

You could try Silver Oaks, on 1560 closer to Alamo Ranch then to Shaenfield. It's nice, and the 1604 bottle neck can be mostly avoided by using 1560 instead of 1604, except in the morning if traveling East.

will see if you give the same response a year from now...i am sure your home is nice and most first time buyers steer towards centex, kb, and drhorton for incentives and affordability...I am sorry i just looked at the price per sqft and I admit you do get a lot of "home" for your money i just hate the look of big boxes with no architectural detail or character, ...but hey if its affordable I do not blame you
