It never ceases to amaze me how after his throat cancer he can hardly talk but when I saw him at the Majestic a few years ago he performed one 2 hour and 20 minute set with no breaks. What a trooper.

OMG!!! I have been a fan since the mid seventies. Illegal Smile, Sam Stone, Angel from Montgomery etc. Went into phase 3 of my life, and no one I knew had ever heard of him. Have had XM radio for the past 5 years and heard "In Spite of Ourselves" a few years back!!! Love that song as it hits home for me & my ol man. Posted it on the "Music Forum" about six months back, and apparently SATX56, claimed it in this thread!!! He never heard of him till then. Unbelievable!!!

But still wouldn't travel to Austin to see him!!!
